Combating Stigma
We believe that combating the sigma of addiction and recovery comes through educating the public about the reality of the disease, offering opportunities to engage with community partners (faith communities, educators, physicians, county departments) around topics such as trauma’s role in addiction, and stigma-reducing language, as well as sharing our story of hope in the face of tragedy.

Community leaders (healthcare, police, religious leaders) gathered to brainstorm ideas that can help make Stanly County a recovery community
We’d love to work with you!
If you are looking for a way to provide education in your setting around the topic of addiction, please let us know! The first step in combating stigma is talking about the problem as well as the solution!
